Jane Fonda Still Fits Her Leotard From The 1980′s

Divabetic: Jane Fonda Fabulous!

Jane Fonda is back in her signature leotard and she looks fabulous! The 74-year-old Oscar winning actress and fitness guru slipped back into the orignal spandex that made her a workout sensation on the “Today” show with Kathie Lee and Hoda for a peek at her new exercise video for seniors, “Jane Fonda Prime Time.”

Jane Fonda first wore the black and red striped leotard on the cover of her 1981 fitness book Jane Fonda’s Workout Book.  And although she may still fit in the same leotard she wore 31 years ago, Fonda does admit that her new workouts are tailored to her more mature body.

“You want to get in and out of chairs without help, in and out of cars without help,” Fonda explained of her new workout regiment that has her looking like she’s been drinking from the fountain of youth.

Hoda even noticed that the leotard looked “kind of big” on Fonda‘s fit frame. Looking good, Ms. Fonda!

Diabetes New Year’s Resolutions

Divabetic: Diabetes New Year's Resolutions

People with diabetes are no strangers to New Year’s Resolutions.  With every irregular blood sugar reading on our monitors , we resolve to improve our self-care! Here’s a tip for making quality New Year’s Resolutions for diabetes:

Don’t go too big.  A resolution such as “I’m going to lower my A1C” can be overwhelming. Why? Because lowering your A1C can take a lot of time, patience and effort.  For many people living with type 2 diabetes to lower their A1C  requires long-term weight loss and increased physical activity.  If you’re hoping to lower you A1C without ‘diet and exercise’ you may find it to be extremely difficult.

Your A1C measures your average blood sugar control over a period of approximately three months.

You may find greater success if you make a smaller, specific resolution such as: “I will test my blood sugar 3 times a day ” or “I will eat 4servings of vegetables.”

Building on success will make it easier to tackle more difficult goals. Remember to congratulate yourself on the good you have done and will do. And refuse to let any self-doubt enter your mind. Just tell yourself over and over, “I am filled with confidence, and I am competent.”
