Fashion Trends at Met Gala 2012

May 8, 2012

Diva TalkRadioThe hottest stars turned out in glittering haute couture for the famed Met Ball (a.k.a. the Fashion Oscars). The annual gala celebrated a new exhibition, “Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations,” and attracted both the biggest names in fashion and music. The exhibition explores the connections between Schiaparelli and Prada, two Italian women whose design was motivated by a desire to challenge conventional notions of beauty and chic.

From McQueen tulle to Givenchy feathers and Kanye in a tux, musicians put on their very best and cascaded down the red carpet in the name of fashion. Check out what everyone wore and see who has our vote for belle of the ball!

Beyonce Wows At Met Gala and Admits She Wants More Kids

May 8, 2012

Diva TalkRadio May 2012

Beyoncé,  this month’s Diva Inspiration on Diva TalkRadio, turned heads at the Met Gala in New York City  in a stunning sheer Givenchy dress that hugged her frame in all the right places, making it impossible to tell that she’s the mother of a newborn. During her strut down the red carpet, Bey revealed that she ‘definitely’ plans to have more children.

“I definitely want to have more. I don’t know how many. God knows, I don’t know yet,” she said. “I have such a full life. I feel like now I know the reason that I was born.” This week the new mom also shared a new photo on her Tumblr account, showing off a “Blue” necklace paying tribute to her daughter.

Beyoncé’s red-carpet-ready look at the New York fashion gala arrived just as she announced that she’s added another date to her set of comeback shows in Atlantic City later this month. The singer has added a fourth show to her Memorial Day weekend residency at the Revel entertainment center in the New Jersey shore town. Tickets for the May 28 show go on sale on May 14, according to Aceshowbiz.com.

As for her set of comeback shows, she says she’s been working to get back into fighting shape. “I haven’t had much time in the gym [since the baby was born],” she said. “I’ve been rehearsing, I have a show coming up and it’s my first show in a year.”  By Jocelyn Vena

Motherly Advice on How To Handle Stress

May 8, 2012

#motherurdiabetesIn honor of Mother’s Day,  enjoy some motherly advice for improving your health. Relax! Learning to manage your stress can help you improve your blood glucose levels.

When you’re under stress, your body fights back by producing extra energy in the form of glucose, which can cause blood sugar values to rise as well as your blood pressure. Fortunately, there’s a simple way to reduce and cope with stress – breathe! Deep, focused breathing nearly always reduces feelings of stress.

Take in a deep breath. Then push out as much air as you can. Breathe in and out again, this time relaxing your muscles on purpose while breathing out. Keep breathing and relaxing for 5 to 20 minutes at a time. Do the breathing exercises at least once a day. #motherurdiabetes
