Stockard Channing Would Love to Be on Smash

Divabetic at Tony AwardsSmash‘s second season is still but a glimmer in NBC’s eye: The show won’t be back until spring, and when it returns, there maybe a new guest star or two.

Michael Cristofer, who plays Anjelica Huston‘s estranged husband Jerry on the show, told Vulture he’s pulling for a Stockard Channing guest arc. “We’re all at a certain age now where we end up being someone’s mother or father, but maybe she could be this mammoth lesbian producer person, or an agent, or a manager,” he suggested. And Channing?

She says, ”I would love to do [Smash].Would Channing be willing to dig in her back catalogue and sing something from Grease? “Luckily, that’s not something I don’t know how to do,” she said. “Sure, I’ll do that.”

Condola Rashad Plays Julia Robert’s Role “Shelby”

Drink Your Juice, Shelby!Condola Rashad‘s shimmering white-and-black floral printed gown was sensational at this year’s Tony Awards. The gorgeous actress and daughter of Ahmad and Phylicia Rashad made a big splash on Broadway this season starring in “Stick Fly,” which was produced by Alicia Keys.

Now we hear news that this young beautiful actress will star in  Lifetime  remake of the classic movie “Steel Magnolias” with an all-black cast .

Queen Latifah will take the lead role in the new casting, and she’s surrounded by some pretty high-quality star power. In addition to the Queen’s role as M’Lynn Eatonton, originally played by Sally Field in the 1989 original, the remaining cast is as follows: Ouiser (Alfre Woodard), Clairee (Phylicia Rashad), Truvy (Jill Scott), Annelle (Adepero Oduye) and Shelby (Condola Rashad).
