Jessica Simpson‘s post-pregnancy body seems to become a rallying cry for women who have struggled with their weight after giving birth.
Kendra Wilkinson defended publicly the post-pregnancy weight gain of Simpson, who gave birth in May to her first child, daughter Maxwell Drew.
At The Watch Hollywood premiere, Wilkinson told Celebuzz that she empathizes with Simpson.
Putting on extra pounds — and not being able to get them off — is something Wilkinson — who looked quite trim on the Watch red carpet — treats as a serious struggle.
“I struggled with weight — and I never thought I would,” Wilkinson said. “I’m very athletic. I grew up playing sports very thin. I never thought it would ever happen to me — and it did. I really saw what it was like to gain that weight, and work for it to come off. Let me tell you, I really appreciate people with weight problems now.”
She added, “It’s hard. It’s hard.”
But news sources won’t leave Jessica Simpson’s body and weight issues alone.
Star magazine reports Jessica Simpson “loves chocolate so much, she may lose millions of dollars satisfying her cravings,” referring to Simpson’s deal with Weight Watchers, which will supposedly pay her $4 million — if she sheds 70 pounds.
A so-called “source” for Star explains, “She’s been cheating on her diet big time. Most days she’s pretty good, but sometimes she feels like she needs to reward herself. And Jessica’s favorite way to reward herself is with chocolate.”
The “source” claims Simpson “keeps a secret drawer for her clandestine chocolate habit, hiding her sugary fixes from the watchful eye of her fiancé, Eric Johnson.”
“She got used to eating everything she wanted when she was pregnant, so eating under 1,200 calories a day now is a real struggle,” explains the Star insider. “Rather than beat herself up, she’s trying to convince herself that she deserves a few candy bars every day.”
