Athough Weight Watchers has assured the public that they’re not putting undo pressure on the singer to lose the weight she famously gained while pregnant with baby Maxwell Drew, their seriously-bleak earnings and falling stock prices do give many the feeling that they’ve probably got a lot riding on Simpson’s ability to be an engaging, inspiring spokesperson.
Pressure to lose the baby weight has reached a fever pitch, and more and more celebs are speaking out against it. And then there was that recent report out of Canada about how pregnant stars are contributing to “pregorexia.” Relying on a new mom to show the world how effective Weight Watchers is, then, isn’t exactly body-positive or on the right side of the conversation.
