If you think that Jennifer Lopez has already done it all think again because apparently J. Lo is shooting her own 3D concert film which will be called Dance Again.
Lopez’s manager Benny Medina confirmed this news to Extra and said that the upcoming film “will chronicle the last few years in Jennifer’s life as she faced big changes. Her instinct is to get right back up, go on the road and ‘dance again,’” hence the title.
I’m still scratching my head trying to figure out why Jennifer Lopez would make a 3D film. First, she rarely tours compared to other artists like Stevie Nicks. Second, she’s not known for being a ‘cutting edge’ artist like Lady Gaga. Her songs aren’t biographical like Adele and wearing a bodysuit covered in crystals after age 40 isn’t quite the same as emerging from an egg at the Grammys like Lady Gaga. Finally, she’s in the tabloids almost every week so is there anything about her we don’t already know? Madonna’s ‘Truth or Dare’ concert film was unique for its time and is could be considered to be the start of celebrity-based reality TV. Justin Bieber was out to prove he’s not a flash-in-the-pan pop star phenomenon in his biopic ‘Never Say Never’ and set himself apart from other teen idols. Katy Perry‘s 3D film ‘Part of Me’ was intriguing because it gave us a sneak peek behind of the superstar’s sugarcoated persona and revealed many different sides to the artist including her early childhood and painful divorce. We found out her world hasn’t always been licorice and lollipops or a teenage dream. Again, what’s the point, Jennifer? I say, why not just release ‘Selena’ in 3D?
