“Nurse Jackie” star Edie Falco looked pretty fabulous on the Emmys red carpet going long and loose with her hair and looking tanned, toned and happy.
We loved this dress until we realized she also looked a little … familiar, thanks to the very popular Stella McCartney dress she was wearing. It’s known as the “optical illusion” dress because of the way its different color panels help women look (even) thinner, and it’s been pretty much everywhere in the past year or so.
Kate Winslet wore one at the Venice Film Festival last fall. Gwyneth Paltrow wore it to the Grammys earlier this year. Kate Moss sported a short version at a Stella McCartney event during London’s Fashion Week in February. And on and on.
That’s not to knock Edie Falco, or any of the other women who have worn the dress. It’s a pretty great dress, and the hourglass effect it creates is kind of amazing. In a side by side comparison,we feel Kate Winslet comes out the clear winner.
