Happy Anniversary to Divabetic Club – Cleveland! It’s hard to believe this uplifting group of women at risk, affected by and living with type 1 and type 2 diabetes is beginning their 5th year together. It’s seems like just yesterday Mr. Divabetic and his team of educators, beauty/fashion experts and fitness instructors hosted our national outreach program, “Divabetic – Makeover Your Diabetes”, with special guest: Mother Love as a kick-off to these free monthly diabetes educational programs. Who can forget all the tour buses filled with women from Cincinnati?
Through the years, one of the best educators in the country, Mary Ann Horst Nicolay, along with her local team at the Diabetes Partnership of Cleveland has done an outstanding job of ‘passing the boa’ to raise awareness of diabetes in a fun, new way. MaryAnn presented a dazzling array of special guests, hot topics and fun demonstrations to motivate, encourage and inspire the divas to stay healthy and upbeat about their daily self-care.
Come and celebrate, reminisce and look forward to another year. Divabetic Club- Cleveland will be serving tea, heart healthy treats and raffles. Remember to bring your own tea cup and saucer and wear your boas or pearls. Everyone welcome!

Diva TalkRadio’s ‘Makeover In Minute’ segment’s guest makeup artist, Kiauna Hunt, says, “dark lipstick is all the rave for fall beauty at Diva Status (mydivastatus.com).” Kiauna advises that the drops in temperatures changing from lip gloss to lipstick provides an additional layer of moisture for your lips. Here’s more Diva Status beauty advice: one of the most important things to remember when applying any product to your lips is that smooth lips are essential for a flawless lip.
Be sure to prep your lips with a good lip balm, if you have dry or cracked lips you may want to exfoliate with a gentle lip scrub. (especially if you are wearing a matte.Next, apply a lip liner of the same color as your lip color to ensure your color stays put.
What shades of darker lipstick will work for you?: Fair skin tones should go for shades between true red and berry. Medium skin tones look best in burgundys. Dark skin tones can wine to deep berry.

My 11-year-old son likes treats. There is a container of red licorice on the table I have to resist whenever I enter the kitchen to grab an apple. When his friends come over they ask me to make them ice cream cones or muffins or for some change for the ice cream man. In the meantime I grab a couple squares of dark chocolate. They are just a little on the […]
