Madonna Urges Fans to Quit Smoking!

December 22, 2012
Madonna butts out!

Madonna butts out!

This diva believes its not ‘Human Nature’ to smoke.  Superstar Madonna urged a crowd of smokers in Santiago, Chile to quit smoking or leave her concert.

The singer was soundchecking when she noticed that some in the crowd had lit cigarrettes. After suddenly cutting off her performance of “Human Nature,” she began berating the crowd.

“There are people smoking right now,” she said. “No smoking. If you’re going to smoke cigarettes, I’m not doing a show. You don’t care about me, I don’t care about you. All right? Are we going to play that game? I’m not kidding. I can’t sing if you smoke” Madonna said, then stormed off the stage.”

Unfortunately Madonna’s message can be seen as slightly confusing since she has been seen smoking in several of her videos and photo shoots.

The good news is nonsmokers still L-U-V Madonna! Her MDNA Tour came in at No. 1 on the list of highest-grossing tours for 2012. She performed for over 1.6 million fans and dialed up $228.4 million in sales.

Divabetic’s Diva Inspiration, Anne Hathaway accidentally flashed fans and photographers as she was climbing out of a car at the New York premiere of Les Miserables.

The newlywed actress, who plays Fantine in the film, was getting out of her chauffeured car outside Manhattan’s Ziegfeld Theatre when the slit in her gothic black dress revealed she had chosen to attend the screening without underwear.

Hathaway appeared to be completely unaware of her wardrobe malfunction and proceeded to walk the red carpet and pose for photos with her co-stars Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Amanda Seyfried.

Matt Lauer Could Be Fired Over ‘Today’ Ratings

December 2, 2012
Ann Curry and Matt Lauer

Ann Curry and Matt Lauer

What goes around comes around, Matt Lauer. Radar reported that Alexandra Wallace, the newly installed executive overseeing the troubled morning show, had informed her bosses that she might have to fire Matt Lauer if ratings for the show continue to lag behind “Good Morning America.” It was not a report that made much sense — Lauer was just signed to an extremely lucrative new contract earlier in the year — but Wallace spoke on the record to the New York Post to rebuff it.

“There is absolutely no truth to this,” she said. “There have been some recent outrageous claims regarding Matt and the ‘Today’ show, and an awful lot of piling on from nameless, faceless sources. These stories are wrong and irresponsible.”

The show has defended itself on the record several times before. Lauer hit back at critical pieces in the Post and Daily News in September, and several NBC executives, including NBC News president Steve Capus, have backed him in interviews. Capus also lashed out at the tabloid stories, telling the Daily Beast –in an oddly similar statement as Wallace’s — that “there has also been a lot of mean-spirited piling-on, which has been manufactured by many anonymous sources.”

Meanwhile, we’ve enjoyed watching Ann Curry on Rock Center with Brian Williams.

November 30, 2012

Gisele Earns $35 Million Dollars More Than Other Models!

July 21, 2012

Divabetic SummerIt pays to be beautiful. But what makes one model stand out so much from the rest?

For the fifth consecutive year, Forbes Magazine named Gisele Bundchen the highest-earning supermodel in the world. The Brazilian-born beauty is estimated to have earned $45 million over the last year alone, with an assumed net worth of $250 million.

Coming in at a very distant second place was prominent supermodel Kate Moss, reported to have earned $9.2 million in the past year, followed by Natalia Vodianova at $8.6 million, and Adriana Lima at $7.3 million.

So what makes Bundchen, who has lucrative contracts with the likes of Versace, Esprit and Pantene, such a goldmine in her field?

“Gisele is not just a model, she is an intelligent business woman and you can see that in the diversity of brands she has worked with. She can play to both the high-end fashion audience and the mass consumer,” said Liane Mullin, co-founder of the model-devoted website, Modelina.com. “She is stunningly beautiful, but also has a very natural look to her. Women aspire to have her carefree beach waves and jeans & T-shirt style.”

And the bucks dished out to have Bundchen attached to a brand have proven to be well worth it.

After C&A Brazil hired Bündchen as a spokesmodel and began airing television commercials, their sales increased by 30 percent, and the lingerie brand HOPE claimed its turnover had increased 40 percent since bringing Bundchen onboard.

As a brand owner and consumer, Emily Rabinowitz of Blessed Charm Jewels added that it is the 31-year-old’s easygoing attitude and au naturel look that keeps her ahead of all others.

“There is no one like her look right now; she is in a league of her own. Gisele is able to pull off any type of pose or look with her figure,” she said. “She makes it look effortless to be in front of the camera while being fit and being a mom. She seems like the type of model who walks into the shoot and doesn’t need a sense of direction on how to photograph.”

And according to at least one person who worked with this well-paid model a few years ago on shoots, Bundchen had natural charisma and ease and didn’t have diva demands. That made her a favorite among photographers, stylists and labels, who became eager to work with her again and again.

“Gisele came across as just very normal,” the fashion industry insider recalled at the time. “She was encouraging everyone to try the chocolate she was eating!”

What are you eating? The happy healthcare host, Mr. Divabetic talks to everyday people about their healthy appetites at Independence Hall in Philadelphia, PA.

Robin Roberts Announces She Has Rare Bone Marrow Disorder

June 12, 2012

Divabetic Health HeadlinesRobin Roberts announced that she has been diagnosed with a rare blood and bone-marrow disorder called MDS, and will undergo a bone marrow transplant.

Speaking on “Good Morning America” and writing on a blog post, Roberts said the disease was once called preleukemia, and is a complication from the treatment she received to beat breast cancer in 2007.

On the “GMA” website, Roberts wrote that, while there are some “scary” statistics about the disease, her doctors have told her she is young and fit enough to beat it.

“Sometimes treatment for cancer can lead to other serious medical issues and that’s what I’m facing right now,” she said. “The reason I am sharing this with everybody right now is because later today I begin what’s known as pre-treatment.”

Roberts said that a tube was being added to her arm Monday afternoon. “I didn’t want you to be concerned if you saw a bandage tomorrow,” she said. “It’s going to be there to draw blood … and also to administer drugs.”

She said that she will be “out for a chunk of time” after she receives a bone marrow transplant from her sister, who doctors said was a “perfect match” for her.

She pledged to overcome the disease.

“I’m going to beat this,” she said, choking up. “My doctors say it and my faith says it to me.” She received a round of applause at the end of her comments.

In a note to staff, ABC News president Ben Sherwood praised Roberts.

“We love Robin, the heart and soul of ABC News, and we’ll stand arm in arm with her as she fights this new battle,” he wrote. “She is the captain of our ‘GMA’ team; she has been the keystone of our recent victories; and she will lead the program for many years to come.”

Best Dressed at 2012 Tony Awards

June 11, 2012

Divabetic Best DressedLet’s hear it for the ladies who lunch – Bernadette Peters, Judith Light, Stockard Channing, Linda Lavin, Tracie Bennett – who by and large showed up their younger peers on the red carpet at the 2012 Tony Awards.

Our favorite Broadway diva, Bernadette Peters pulled off a modern mermaid gown in deep violet — strapless, no less — without the help of illusion netting, while Bennett looked positively girlish in a pretty pale pink gown with a raspberry sequined tulle overlay.

Stockard Channing wore a slinky sequined chiffon gown, and Judith Light, the winner for best actress in a featured role for “Other Desert Cities,” looked great in a ’30s-style chiffon and satin ivory gown.

Adele Admits To Spanx Addiction

June 5, 2012

Adele performed live for the TV special“Adele Live in London”  and sat down with Today anchor Matt Lauer for an exclusive interview.

The 24-year-old songbird talked about taking home six awards at this years Grammys, and even discussed her ensemble from the big night. Adele admited to Matt that she wore FOUR pairs of Spanx underneath. FOUR. One, two, three, FOUR.

Don’t get me wrong, We love a good pair of Spanx or Lipo In A Box - the way that they smooth everything over and make your tush looked toned — it’s a dream. However, four pairs? Under ONE dress? Don’t you think that’s a tad bit excessive?

I mean, Kudos to Adele. To be real, she looked fab that night — and the plethora of Spanx did get the singer a lot of press for a possible “slim down.”
