Happy Monday! As you begin your week, I would like to recap my weekend in the hope you find inspiration, motivation and a continued source of support.
On Friday, May 21st, we officially launched Divabetic’s Bad Romance Tour at the sanofi-aventis sponsored Community Health Partnership Health Fair at the Owen Dolen Recreation Center (Bronx, NY). In this program, we go one-on-one with participants to promote diabetes self-care management and feature a presentation entitled “Sugar Shock,” which exposes the amounts of hidden sugar in the foods we eat. Hopeless romantics no more, the audience discovered that breaking up was not hard to do.
And last night, how about Bret Michaels, who is living with Type 1 diabetes? I know that at least today, you agree Bret embodies Divabetic’s “Glam More, Fear Less” philosophy. Despite his most recent string of medical emergencies, Bret was “in da house” at the Celebrity Apprentice finale show in New York City and named Celebrity Apprentice, netting $250,000 for the American Diabetes Association. Give this “Rock of Love” star a boa-ovation!
