The happy healthcare host, Mr. Divabetic wants to inspire you to eat more fruits and vegetables.
Nothing tastes like a fresh tomato! Harvesting tomatoes at the right time means you get fantastic flavor. Fully-ripened fruit tastes much better than fruit picked early.
That’s because once a tomato is picked, it is cut off from its main oxygen source. But even when a tomato is picked before it is ready, it continues to ripen.
Fruits and vegetables are loaded with nutrients as well as fiber, which keep you feeling full longer and make you less likely to snack between meals. Slice a variety of fruits, like peaches, plums, nectarines, and various berries, to add to cold or cooked cereal or to top French toast, waffles, or pancakes instead of syrup. Try serving vegetables at the start of a meal with a low-fat dip to add flavor.

My 11-year-old son likes treats. There is a container of red licorice on the table I have to resist whenever I enter the kitchen to grab an apple. When his friends come over they ask me to make them ice cream cones or muffins or for some change for the ice cream man. In the meantime I grab a couple squares of dark chocolate. They are just a little on the […]
