The happy healthcare host, Mr. Divabetic asked New York-based makeup artist, Sue Perez to share her beauty secrets for getting a sexy pout on Diva Talk Radio’s Valentine’s Day Special. Our real-life diva, Carole from Philadelphia, loved them so much, we wanted to share Sue’s 3 steps to having a sexy smile and truly kissable lips with you!
1.Prep- Mix a little olive oil and sugar together in a cup. I generally use 1/4 teaspoon of oil to 1 tablespoon of sugar. Then gently rub the mixture over your lips with your fingertip. This is a wonderful way to scrub away dryness and it naturally plumps your lips!
2.Whiten- An excellent 100% natural way to whiten teeth is from fruits that contain citric acid, like lemons and grapefruits. Just eat some grapefruits or enjoy the lemons after your iced tea and you can naturally whiten your teeth. This really works!
3. Brighten- Lip color is the way to brighten your smile and the most flattering shades are cool tones like rose, berries, plums and red! A great tip is using lipliner after you’ve applied your lipstick or gloss. It evens out the edges and gives you a more natural fullness.

David Letterman has certain principles and one of those is that for Christmas, all you need is Love.
Darlene Love.
For over 25 years, David Letterman has invited Darlene Love to sing “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” on his late-night CBS show.
“It’s not officially Christmas,” Letterman says, until she has sung that song – and he’s got a strong argument.
“Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) is from the 1963 holiday compilation album, A Christmas Gift for You From Phillies Records. The song was written by Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich, along with Phil Spector.
DIVA TRIVIA: The song was supposed to be sung by Ronnie Spector of The Ronnettes. According to Love, Ronnie Spector was not able to put as much emotion into the song as needed. Instead, Darlene Love was brought into the studio to record the song, which became a big success over time and one of Love’s signature tunes.

Research by nurses at the University of Texas is documenting that when blood sugar lowers then hot flashes are more likely and that when food is eaten then hot flashes may stay away for up to 90 minutes.
Unfortunately, the researchers haven’t been able to form any conclusions as to why this is happening, and are even suggesting women eat every 3 hours to suppress hot flashes.
Women with poorly controlled blood sugar will have abnormal drops in their blood sugar between meals. This activates a hunger signal typically fueled in the brain by neuropeptide Y (NPY). Eating in harmony with leptin actually reduces excess NPY, which can also be assisted by taking more calcium. If you’re able to get your cravings under control it will help stabilize NPY and reduce hot flashes. But eating more often can result in more weight gain at and following menopause – the last thing any woman wants.

My 11-year-old son likes treats. There is a container of red licorice on the table I have to resist whenever I enter the kitchen to grab an apple. When his friends come over they ask me to make them ice cream cones or muffins or for some change for the ice cream man. In the meantime I grab a couple squares of dark chocolate. They are just a little on the […]
