January 2, 2012Oprah’s Weight Loss Can Be Yours!
December 14, 2011Can you lose 20, 30 or 40 pounds and maintain it over a period of time? The answer is definitely.
But weight loss takes effort and patience especially if you are older. Maintaining your weight loss over a period of time also takes planing, determination and good exercise and a healthy diet.
Oprah herself has lost and maintained a 40 pound weight loss over all these years which is not the easiest thing to do. What we are seeing more and more of is the “Biggest Loser” type ‘weight loss at all costs’ scenarios, from reality shows. On these shows viewers watch contestants lose “hundreds” of pounds of weight, which is achievable for an average person but in no way should be that dramatic.
As you get older, staying fit over 40 makes things even harder, but it can be done. Yes, obesity is at its highest level. According to the CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention), obesity in adults has increased by 60% within the past twenty years. Obesity in children has tripled in the last thirty years. A shocking 33% of American adults are obese.
So if Oprah can lose that much weight and keep it off, can you? Yes. But be aware that as time goes on women tend to gain weight, especially around the abdomen and that is not healthy weight gain
