Let’s have some fun and play “Lend, Buy or Burn!” Fashion Gamewith the worst Red Carpet looks at the Met Gala. The party’s theme: ‘Punk: Chaos to Couture’ inspired a bevy of style stars, from models to designers to Hollywood’s A-list to dress up in plenty of studding, black leather and perhaps a few mohawks. What were they thinking?
The ageless Material Girl, Madonna was spotted in a brunette bob on the Red Carpet wearing just a grey studded tartan jacket, she eschewed a skirt or trousers for a fishnet body stocking, hold-up stockings and pink suede stilettos by Casadei. Emma Watson wore a black silk crepe back satin hand-draped gown from Prabal Gurung‘s Fall-Winter 2013 collectio
To play the game, Lend, Buy or Burn! you must decide:
Which dress you would LEND to a friend
Which dress you would BUY for yourself
Which dress you would BURN with a match?!
Whether you look your best, or you look like a mess on the Red Carpet – we think you’re a still a ‘winner’ for going after your dreams.
We hope Anne Hathaway has been reading ‘The Ugly Duckling” because we really want her to become a ‘swan’ in time for the Oscars. Mr. Divabetic thinks that Anne, with the help of her stylist, laid another egg on the Red Carpet last night at the 2013 SAG Awards. (Okay, it wasn’t as big as Lady Gaga’s but it was still bad.) A few weeks ago at the Golden Globes, Anne wore a two-piece forgettable Chanel gown which was a huge disappointment.
Of course, Anne wasn’t alone, some of our favorite ladies: Lea Michele and January Jones SAG Award Red Carpet looks also had us scratching our heads in wonder.
Anne Hathaway wore a Giambattista Valli dress, with its sheer shoulders and skirt. Several fashion critics described the look as characteristically avant-garde yet feminine look. The “Les Miserables” star paired the gown with custom vegan Jimmy Choo shoes, Kwiat jewels and an Eddie Parker clutch.
The bodice was off and the miniskirt under sheer tulle is horrific. Why does this awful look keep coming back? It has never worked on anybody not even for Madonna. (Demi Moore, Heidi Klum, Cyndi Lauper, Downtown Julie Brown have all tried it and failed.) The ‘Material Girl’ abandoned the sheer look in the 80′s and had enough style chops to never look back. Why are so many young stars striving to be ‘Who’s That Girl’?
It doesn’t matter what Anne wears because we are still an ‘Fans of Anne’s.’ Seriously, she could show up in a potato sack and we’d still adore her. Her speeches are so heartfelt, charming and inspirational we can’t help but root for her to win the Oscar! Let’s just hope that she’s been trying out different looks so that she can really get it right for the Academy Awards.
Does she belong on this list?

The hottest beauty trend to emerge from the Golden Globes a week later seems to be British Singer, Adele’s updo hairstyle. What? This news is surprising because a week ago I put Adele — Globe winner for her Skyfall theme song — firmly on my ‘Worst Dressed’ List. I think she was dressed rather ‘frumpy’ for a Rock n’ Roll goddess. If she’s ’21’ or thereabouts why is she dressing like she’s ’91’ or Betty White? Adele’s matronly look was compliments of Burberry, Van Cleef and Arpel jewels and Miu Miu shoes. Her makeup and hair were created by Michael Ashton for Michael Ashton Beauty.
Can you image Madonna wearing Adele’s ‘Knot Landing’ cocktail dress or hairstyle back in her “Material Girl” heyday? I sincerely doubt it. But judging from my twitter and facebook messages I am in the minority.
“Adele’s big hair matches her big voice,” declares Joico Int’l Creative Director Damien Carney. “It’s large and strong and evokes a modern ‘60s feeling.”
Here’s how to get the look:
1. Apply two drops of Joico Smooth Cure Leave-In Rescue to damp hair, comb through and blow dry with a large round brush.
2. Set hair with heated rollers to create volume and body. Remove rollers and brush through thoroughly.
3. Isolate the front hairline and clip away.
4. Mist the remaining hair with Joico JoiShape Shaping and Finishing Spray. Once the spray dries, brush through—the spray will make it easier to control and construct the shape.
5. Divide the hair into two sections, front and back. Beginning at the crown, backcomb large, horizontal sections at the scalp. Continue backcombing, switching to vertical sections at the sides and finishing in the front.
6. Without disturbing the volume, lightly smooth and gather the hair away from the face.
Adele sported an intricate interwoven bun that looks particularly good with blond or gray hair because you can see it. From the front she kept it clean and classic with a bit of a ’60s vibe.

Adele‘s James Bond theme tune “Skyfall” failed in its mission to top the charts on the UK Pop Charts for a second week.
The Grammy winner, 24, was hot favorite to become the first singer to get to number one with a 007 theme.
But Scandinavian DJ supergroup Swedish House Mafia took the top spot with their track “Don’t You Worry Child”.
“Skyfall”, which debuted at number four last weekend, made second place.
No Bond theme has ever reached number one on the Official Singles Chart, but Duran Duran’s 1985 single “A View To A Kill” also reached number two.
Adele was prevented from reaching the top spot by Rihanna’s “Diamonds” last Sunday, which has now slipped to number four.
Mother-to-be Adele teamed up with Paul Epworth, who co-wrote and produced her massive hit “Rolling In The Deep”, to write “Skyfall” for the new film of the same name.
Stars who have missed out on the top spot with a Bond theme include Paul McCartney, Tom Jones and Madonna.
The film, again starring Daniel Craig as Bond, premieres on October 26, 2012. We can’t wait!

Divabetic’s Free Diabetes Roundtable podcast inspiration, Katy Perry might be one of the biggest stars in the music business, but its her costumes that get all the attention from the insurance companies. Apparently since her bra tops are dynamically detailed and have moving parts, the garments have become a serious insurance issue. According to a detailed report, the insurance companies are looking at Perry’s costumes as a liability and measures need to be made before she hits the stage again.
“I keep being told the insurers are worried I will injure my neck,” said Katy Perry about the situation. The artist has long hair and could easily get the hair stuck in the moving parts and injure her neck.
The costumes Katy Perry wears on stage definitely aren’t disappointing. Whether she dresses up as a candy girl or looks like a theater girl, she always attracts the attention of the fans. Having moving parts is definitely a bonus as it draws the audience to her costume and shows the look off very distinctively.
Apparently the costumes can be exciting and loud, but the moving parts have to go for Katy Perry to hit the stage. Maybe Madonna should give her some advice?

Sunday’s Super Bowl was the was the most-watched show in the history of television. The New York Giants edged the New England Patriots in what could only be reasonably described as a nail-biter in one of the most exciting Super Bowl matchups in recent history. Yet the news story that has managed to trump the actual football game is that of rapper-rocker-visual artist M.I.A. flipping the world the bird during Madonna’s, shall we say, electrifying half-time performance.
The Parent’s Television Council, who found the gesture offensive and called M.I.A. a “desperate performer.” NBC and NFL have both issued apologies for M.I.A.’s action, and it seems clear that if the FCC gets involved, M.I.A. will suffer the the same consequences as Janet Jackson.
Clearly NBC and the NFL realized that they were taking a risk by booking Madonna, Minaj and M.I.A.
M.I.A. fans know that she makes music that rages against the machine through lyrics, performance, visual representation and style. She mixes world, electronica, rap and dancehall beats, with her voice layered over a driving beat. Her music and persona are unapologetic, and she definitely still reps a B-girl stance.
Music video for Madonna’s Give Me All Your Luvin’ single, featuring M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj. The single will appear on Madonna‘s forthcoming album M.D.N.A. and was a key part of the Madonna‘s performance at the Super Bowl.
In other Madonna news, the pop star had declared her interest to make a movie about the 19th century aristocrat Lady Jane Digby. “She was excommunicated or outcast from society because she had an affair and she had a child. One of her Bedouin guides became one of her closest friends and confidants and she ended up falling in love with him and he fell in love with her. But he did have several other wives and he wanted to marry her.”
The singer feels compelled to tell the story in part for its epic romance, but also because she is inspired by Digby. “I’m obviously always going to be drawn to stories about strong females ’cause we need, I need them, for inspiration,” she said.
We can’t believe we’re getting new Madonna music in less than a month!!!
The first single, Give Me All Your Love (Gimme All Your Luvin)is tentatively planned to hit radio and iTunes February 7th.
The final release will be a bit different than the demo that was leaked earlier and is described to have “a lot of bass and beats” and will be “harder.”
