Does Jessica Simpson Inspire You To Lose Weight?

September 15, 2012

Jessica on KatieIsn’t not easy being a celebrity. Imagine what it’s like to be being photographed from every (bad) angle on your way to the gym after  having a baby! YIKES!

Jessica Simpson decided that she needed to lose weight. Her reasoning for this she states is “There is a lot of pressure to lose weight but I’m not a supermodel. I’m just Jessica trying to eat real food in the real world and I really just wanna be healthy for my daughter.”

Her appearance on the new Katie Couric show, 4 months after the start of her diet revealed her 40 pound weight loss and a diva-licious attitude.

“I’m on my way and it feels amazing. Really I just wanna be a better version of myself,” said Jessica. You go, diva!

Talking on the debut episode of Katie today Jessica explained why the Weight Watchers program is working for her.

‘You have to track every bit, and you can’t get away with the bites because they add up,’ she said.

‘You have to be completely honest with yourself, and I think just creating that relationship of honesty with yourself is so good.’

The Los Angeles Times reports that “In addition to Weight Watchers, Jessica works with celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak. They execute a daily cardio routine…”

Celebrities enjoy the benefit of celebrity trainers, and weight loss companies that pay them to lose weight in return for the privilege of claiming responsibility. But the fact remains that the majority of overweight Americans, estimated to be around 74%, 34% of who are considered to be obese, do not have the benefit of personal trainers and endorsement deals.

Rosie O’Donnell’s Talk Show Gets A Facelift

January 22, 2012

Divabetic: Everything's Coming Up Rosie

Rosie O’Donnell’s first new episode of her talk show since the holiday hiatus made it was clear that changes are afoot. “I’m actually more nervous than I was at the premiere,” she said before announcing: “We’ve changed the whole thing.”

Gone is the Oprah-esque stage, with its warm, milky hues and expansive square footage, replaced with a set that is noticeably smaller and brighter. Even the studio audience has been reduced to roughly a fifth of its original size

Despite a strong debut in October, when it pulled in 500,000 viewers to Oprah Winfrey‘s ratings-chellenged OWN cable network, “The Rosie Show” failed to retain those numbers in ensuing months. No doubt O’Donnell understood it was time to shake things up.

“As a comic, I was like, I needed something smaller,” she told the audience Tuesday. “The old set was more like Caesars Palace, and I needed, like, Vinnie’s Yuk Yuk Hut.”

The smaller stage (and an audience of just 72) means there’s no room for the band anymore – a huge disappointment for us!  Our good friend, Katreese Barnes, was the band leader and the main reason we kept watching.
