Joan Collins Spoils Occars Biggest Moment

February 23, 2012

Actress, Joan Collins spilled the beans that “The Artist” is going to win Best Picture at the Oscars this year.  When asked about her Oscar predictions she said,

Oh, yes, but I’m not going to tell you.”

She then quickly added her little pearl of information,

“I’m a voter, so I’m not allowed to say. But I think it’s called ‘The Artist.’”

The Los Angeles Times took old school Academy members to task for their lack of diversity highlighting the advanced age and lack of diversity among Academy members. Oscar voters are 94 percent white, 77 percent male and have a median age of 62. Based on that make-up, conventional wisdom is that “The Artist” — a silent and black and white film about an aging silent movie star pushed aside by the advent of talkies — will take home many awards on Sunday night, including Best Picture.

Jane Fonda looks FLAWLESS at Golden Globes

Divabetic: Flawless Jane Fonda

Jane Fonda proved age is just a number in a stunning, fitted, see through side-paneled black dress at the Golden Globes.

Film legend Jane Fonda, 72, walked onto the stage to present the Golden Globe award for best comedy to the cast of The Artist in a daring gown and made it look elegant  - and you can bet all eyes were on her!

While Hollywood’s newest starlets Mila Kunis and Lea Michele debuted their youthful red carpet looks to lukewarm results –  Jane Fonda looked red hot!

At 74-years-old, the presenter stole the spotlight in this beautiful black Jack Guisso gown and adorned in Neil Lane jewels.

And that body!

There’s no denying that Jane Fonda follows her own advice and/or watches her workout tapes.  She’s back with a new set of “Prime Time” workout DVD’s that middle-aged and senior-aged women, those of us in our “prime,” are going to love.

Jane Fonda’s “Fit & Strong DVD includes two 25-minute workouts that will burn fat, tone and shape every major muscle group and strengthen your core.”

Want to know who else  Jane wowed at the Golden Globes?

George Clooney!

My God,” George Clooney told reporters backstage. “She looked great, didn’t she?”

A comment like that coming from George Clooney is definitely btter than a Golden Globe in our book!

Will ‘The Artist’ Silence the Competition at the Golden Globes?

January 15, 2012

Divabetic: The Artist

Can a black-and-white silent movie out shine a colorful array of Hollywood heavyweights to win gold tonight?

This Artist, written and directed by Michel Hazanavicius, could actually score several statues tonight at the 69th Golden Globes, live from Beverly Hills, Calif., with host Ricky Gervais.

The film leads all movie and TV contenders with six nominations: Best motion picture, comedy or musical; best actor, comedy or musical, Jean Dujardin; best supporting actress, Berenice Bejo; best score; and writing and directing nods for Hazanavicius.

“The Artist” will also earn points for being from another country (it’s the Hollywood Foreign Press), having a story line that celebrates the glory days of moviemaking (the advent of talkies in the late 1920s) and for its cute-as-heck co-star (Uggie the Jack Russell terrier).

Its closest competitors, with five nominations each, are Alexander Payne’s “The Descendants,” the comedy-drama starring George Clooney as a confused father and husband; and “The Help,” Kathryn Stockett‘s novel-turned-film with a wonderful cast (Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer and Jessica Chastain are all nominated).
