Halle Berry may have said a few years back that she would never marry again, but it seems girlfriend wasn’t exactly telling the truth — she is in fact engaged to marry French actor Olivier Martinez, he confirmed over the weekend.
“Yes, of course it’s true,” Martinez said while promoting his new South Beach restaurant, Villa Azur.
The opulent trinket was actually designed by Robert Maslo of Paris, whose family has been making jewelry for “kings and queens for many centuries.” “The ring is textured and contains codes and symbols which you cannot see … only the person wearing it can,” the jeweler. The emerald and gold bauble has two diamonds. “It’s very uncommon. The symbols and codes represent [the couple's] story and only they can interpret it.”
Robert Maslo said he didn’t realize he was crafting an engagement ring when Olivier Martinez approached him last year with the project. Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez first stepped out publicly as a couple in October 2010. This will be Berry’s third marriage.
