Last night I hosted our first official read through of this year’s Diabetes Mystery Radio: “Phantom of the Opera” in preparation of our live performance on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, 6-7 PM, EST.
Who says learning about diabetes and nutrition can’t be fun and exciting?!!!
I certainly don’t! That’s why I enlisted some A-List talent from the diabetes community including Peter Arpesella, Asha Brown, Susan Weiner and the Diabetes Late Nite team members to help me bring to life this year’s diabetes mystery.
My goal for creating this project is to present diabetes education in an entertaining way. If you’re tired of going to lectures about diabetes then this show is for you! Behind every twist and turn of our madcap story line there’s diabetes self-care advice and tips to help you better manage your diabetes. Plus, we debunk several myths about living with diabetes.
Here’s a brief synopsis of ‘Phantom of the Okra’:
The happy healthcare host, Mr. Divabetic gets caught up in a murder mystery when he agrees to host the Red Tomato Carpet at the 6th Annual Bake Bethesda A Pie Contest at Central Farm Market in Bethesda, Maryland.
Will orange be the ‘new black’ for Mr. Divabetic? Find out what happens when Mr. Divabetic, the Diabetes Late Nite cast and some special friends try to unravel this murder mystery loosely based on “The Phantom Of The Opera.”
